On the Mission of God

615519-364239-thumbnail.jpgMaybe the mission of God and His purposes are higher than our little neat set of doctrines. We might squiggle and squirm when God pushes us beyond our own boundaries, like Ezekiel did when God suggested using human dung rather than animal, but maybe this is a part of our spiritual growth - the crucifixion of self, the descrecration of our own idols.

I couldn't agree more. So often we try to fit God in our neat little box of preconceived notions and comfortable ideas of how God should work. When in reality that, by its very nature, is completely opposed to how God works. The only limits to God’s power are those we place upon him in our refusal to submit wholeheartedly to his commands and the movement of his spirit. Since we grow in the direction of our weakness, we must all strive to rid ourselves of the hindrances that pride, ignorance and selfish ambition place upon our soul in its attempts to commune with the true God.
Best of luck in the noblest pursuit of truth, the goal of dying to the self, so that God can fully work unimpeded in our hearts.

For shizzy. I, too, have noticed how many Christians often confuse simple regional customs and social norms as correct practices of faith, as if God were specifically American or could possibly limit God's self to the expectations of any state's population.

According to LCC "Our Beliefs" page, the Apostles' Creed "gives a summary of the doctrinal commitments" of LCC. Are you questioning the foundation of Jesus, thus God? And speaking of "Our Belief" page, following the Apostles Creed the statements below seem to question the Bible itself. Am I misreading something here?
