Lakeside Christian is a missions minded church! We are currently supporting 4 local missions here in the San Diego area, and 5 international ones.

Our Local Missions

Project New Hope International

We are John and Carla Hendee. After serving as missionaries in Chile for 12 years we returned to the States to help care for Carla’s mother, Marvel who is 90 years old now. Upon returning God opened the doors for us to form “Project New Hope International”.

We are 5 years old now.  Our mission is to start a reproduceable and expanding church planting movement on the mission field, starting in Trujillo, Peru.  As Executive Director I work in the U.S. in communications, support raising and administration of the field team.  I make at least 6 trips a year to Peru to help encourage and train the team there.  We have over 30 paid national workers there, currently lead by a U.S. missionary couple.  The support for these families comes from the U.S.

These people are local workers who are involved in church planting and evangelism.
We trust we are becoming a model in how to do mission work in many parts of the world in the 21st Century.  If you would like to see short videos, pictures and short articles about what all is happening in Peru, go to our Web site and check it out.

Kulpahar Kids Home -

Kulpahar is an orphan’s home, school and hospital located in Kulpahar, India. the very first orphans raised here are now helping to run the facility. They serve not only the Christian people of the area, but also those of other local religion. Hindu families have found that their children do better at the Kulpahar school than at other schools in the area. The hospital is also used by all in the region.

Ministerios Puente

NOTE to members: (Mission contact people are needed for some of our international missions, and our Short Term missions coordinator is seeking a leader!  You are always welcome to attend our monthly meetings or contact any of us for information. Being a missions contact is a great blessing, and you need only a small amount of time each month.  There is no commitment of money or travel required- just a heart for our missionaries and the places where they work to spread the Good News and help others. The Short Term assistant will help our coordinator, Brian Brackrog, to plan, organize and advertise short term trips for our congregation- both for local outreaches and to help our existing missions.  This is a fun and exciting job for an energetic couple or member!)
